The Government of Uttarakhand on May 13, 2026, issued a notification regarding the implementation of the Mining Digital Transformation & Surveillance System (MDTSS).
The following has been stated:-
•The Directorate of Geology and Mining in Uttarakhand has implemented the Mining Digital Transformation & Surveillance System (MDTSS) across all districts to prevent illegal mining and transportation while boosting state revenue.
•Under this initiative, all authorized mining leases, storage facilities, screening plants, and various stone crushers must integrate their computerized weighbridges and CCTV cameras with the MDTSS software application.
•Plant owners are strictly directed to complete this digital integration via the departmental Mineral Management portal by May 31, 2026.
•Starting June 01, 2026, the issuance of mandatory e-rawannas (transit passes) will be completely restricted to only those facilities that have successfully integrated their systems.
•This official order has been circulated to all district magistrates and local mining officers to ensure strict compliance and swift field execution across the state.
